United Airlines Complaints and Reviews
Worst in Customer CareJan

United Airlines is the worst in customer care. I wanted to use the credit for an old canceled ticket. It is not possible to do it online – you have to call them. And when you call them, it is impossible to talk to a human being. You just keep going round and round within their system without getting anywhere. I swear I am not going to book anything with United Airlines anymore. It is a terrible experience.

Suggestion #1
I have had a United Airlines credit card for over 15 years and pay $140 for the card that will give me 2X the miles for certain items purchased. The problem is, although you have more miles in your account you can rarely use them. An when you do find a flight it is at some odd time of day with several stops.
I used to be able to call and get a person who could speak English but now their customers reps are almost all from India. Although they are usually polite I can not understand them. They are also not very well trained. The guy I spoke to last night didn’t know their policy concerning 1st class when redeeming miles.
He told me several times that you can no longer redeem miles for 1st class tickets. He said you need to, “Buy with Cash” an economy ticket then you can upgrade that ticket to 1st class 10,000 of your miles. He even asked his supervisor, (I could hear them speaking in their language).
I’m glad I didn’t go with what he was telling me, and tried again and again for another “English speaking operator, who told me that he didn’t know what he was talking about. Doesn’t United care that they will be loosing me and many other customers if they don’t do something about this situation! My husband has an Alaska Airlines card and does not have to deal with in competent, non English speaking operators. I will be switching to Alaska soon! I would also like a refund for my $ 140 credit card fee.
