Transmission World Complaints and Reviews
Ripping Off Its Consumers And Worst ServiceFeb
11
2010
Holding my car hostage for a $2500.00 repair issue that was only supposed to be a free tow and free estimate of what was wrong. No authorization. Jim an employee of Transmission World received a phone call from me on September 11th, 2009 about my 2001 Mitshubishi Diamante not running. He said he would tow it in and check it for me to see what was wrong at no charge.
Two days later he called me on my cell phone and told me that it would only cost $800.00 to fix my car and I told him to fix it. The following morning he called me again and told me once he took my transmission apart and it was worse than he thought and it would cost 2,500.00 to fix.
I told him no way and to put my car back together and he told me it would be $600.00 to pick up my car and that I had to pay for towing. When I asked him about the free towing and estimate he said that was only if I agreed to fix my car there which is clearly not what he told me on the phone. I called the owner Gus and he told me that he wanted to help me and found a used transmission and would finance it for me $1500 down and I said no.
I never agreed or signed anything for Transmission World to fix my car and they took it upon themselves to repair my car and hold it hostage until I pay $2500.00 when this should have only been a free estimate or $800.00 repair at the most. I feel this company is ripping off its consumers with their dishonest methods of repair practices.
