My daughter took her Ford Ranger in to Purrfect Auto in Glendora, CA for a smog test, first their coupon was worthless as they pointed out her V6 truck was an up charge. Vehicle passed smog test but wouldn’t communicate with their computer so the it would fail to complete finial test. They wanted an extra $49.95 to plug in their diagnostic reader to see why it wouldn’t communicate with their computer.

After much talking to the person on the phone we agreed to this charge otherwise she would lose the inflated charge for the smog test and have to pay it all over again if she left to have the truck fixed by someone else. The kicker is, after plugging in the diagnostic tester they found that the charger cable for her cell phone was causing the problem! Not that they should know this after doing how many hundred smog tests, that all accessories have to be unplug and turned off!!

Now would they eat their bogus diagnostic charge for their error. No way had 19.95 smog tests turned into a $93.00 bill.
