I put price request on www.whypaysticker.com and I got so many emails from different dealerships. I have checked each dealership prices and found that katy have lowest internet price so i decided to check them out. Veronica from internet setup appointment. The day of appointment she came over to greet but immediately assigned floor sales man. That was quite surprising start. Sales man seemed humble and nice. We took test drive of few Honda odessey models and while test drive he learned couple of things that I was looking for Pearl red model which they didn’t have it and also he learned that i was not going to buy car on sticker price.
Once we return to dealership, he immediately grabbed other sales person Name Jeff and assigned him to us. We still wanted to understand more about other odessey model EX-L so Jeff took us to different model and talked about differences. Then we decided that we liked one EX-L model which was not cherry perl red but it was acceptable color so we wanted to talk about pricing. We came in office and immediately I told him to show me Factory Purchase Price and Invoice Price.
His manager came back with one print out but I didn’t trust that number as they didn’t show me Factory Price. I asked them again and show them graph on whypaysticker.com that I would pay price which is in range of Best price for Ex-L.
They agreed on that price but total price was decided was Invoice Price + Any dealership upgrade (about 1200$ which includes oil change for life time, protection plan for glass coating, nitrogen for tires, etc which was listed on sticker). I was ok with paying for that service. Until this point I felt like it was good deal. Then we went to finance. Alex was finance manager.
Beware of this guy. He is real scammer. He sold me Extended warranty for 5 years / 60000 miles and 3 years / 45000 miles which I didn’t catch it until I understood from other dealerships and Honda.com that Factory warranties covers all those craps and nobody have to pay anything for those warranties. I called him back to explained me why he kept saying that those warranties are Standard warranties where as it was extended warranties. He said he will refund money for 5 years / 60000 extended warranty but he can’t give me refund for 3 year warranty. I decided to meet his boss John Lewis. He is also scammer.
When I went there he said he can’t refund 3 year warranty money as its not cancellable contract. Also when told him about few other protection plans Mr.Alex sold, he said he can’t refund those money as sales is done. Overall, I will advise everybody to not sign on any paper on day of purchase. Make them write every single item they are trying to sold. Reject their protection plans / warranties they are trying to sell. It’s all scams. They have so many legal terms which will not cover what you think it will cover after buying protection plans. I have almost paid 2000$ more on these scams and I will not get refund from this crooks.
Beware of dealing with their finance department. Do not purchase on day of paper work. Make notes of every single thing. Reject their extra protection plans. Ask for factory pricing / invoice pricing. Do not pay for their dealership upgrades shown on sticker price. I will advise you to visit at least 4 to 5 dealership and compare their paper works before you make any purchase. I hope this experience will save your money and time.
